The most obvious changes that I have made to assignment 2 is the use of strokes. My previous attempt uses only 1 type of stroke with size 1 resulting it to look thin and very 'pencil like' effect. So with more strokes it looks more like a symbol.

Ideas for Active Ageing Poster
For the poster, I anticipated that many people will use photos of senior citizens as part of the poster. But I decided in the end to have a more 'cartoonish effect' on the poster. I believe that the 'cartoonish effect' will be more striking as a poster. Below is a old man 'cartoon' with a nice expression. I am still researching more on the Internet to see what kind of 'cartoons' I can use in my poster.
Assignment 5 Postcard: Final Design
Due to time constraints, I didnt manage to change the design much of my postcard. Instead I just experiment with more colors inlign with the aim of the assignment. To show contrast between East and West, I decided to use complementary striking colors for the modern West side and more subdue and less striking colors to show a more modest East.

Assignment 6: Finalized Story
The final story, my group decided to use my friend's Nisha story. However we also included some elements from other team members' stories. A bit of my story is also included. We felt that by doing so, we can expound from Nisha's story and make it more interesting. To make children more excited to read the story, we tried to ryhme the whole story (with lots of difficulty but we did manage to) and also include like a 'guess who did this' plot in the storybook.
Assignment 6: Storybook
Above are the characters that I came up with for the individual stories. The story is titled: When my Grandpa came. The story is as follows
-Grandpa bear suddenly moves into the house and suddenly Baby Bear lives started to change
-because Grandpa bear is now the oldest in the family, everybody has to "give way" and 'respect' him and this displeases Baby Bear.
-in the end, Baby bear finds out that Grandpa bear really loves her but does not really know how to show that he cares for her.
This story hopefully shows that no matter what happen your family always love you.
Assignment 5: Music Festival PostCard
For this assignment, I was still indecisive over what kind of background to use for the postcard. I came up with the idea of east meets west music festival so I would like to show a stark contrast or two different worlds. So the guy plugged in to the guitar wearing headphones represents the 'West' while the girl playing the Guzheng represents the East. The problem with this idea is that the two pictures somehow cannot fill up the postcard. So there are quite a number of blanks in between and look quite plain. So I experimented with borders and other abstract design in the postcard. For the colors part, I experimented with different shades of colors. Most are blends with 2/3 different shades of color: example - purple and brown. Because of this the postcard will not look so striking and have a more soft/warm feeling to it.
A4: Active Ageing Poster modification
So here is some minor changes that I have made to this assignment. As mentioned early I put in some brief description about the aim of the poster. Also the previous title may not be clear to many people. So the title Fit Children into your Schedule clearly tells exactly what the poster is about. It sums up everything that it is supposed to tell.
A4: Poster
This above is the first draft of my poster. My poster aims to promote active ageing lifestyle to senior citizens by encouraging them to spend more time with their children/grandchildren. I think this is a worthwile cause as this lifestyle is healthy for them and at the same time will help improve their relationship with their families.
The downside of this is someone critiqued this and said that from the poster, the aim is not really obvious. I thought the pictures alone can somehow relate the aim but unfortunately this is not so. So many people suggest that I write an extra brief description, like a brief text on the poster to reiterate the aims and make it clearer to all.

Assignment3: StoryTelling with photos
For this assignment, I first came up with the idea of making a spooky/horror/ghost related story. But since I am not proficient enough to create ghostly figures in photoshop, I decided on an object or a thing that went missing. So the idea of PersonA sleeping and then find that his/her blanket went missing. To do that I decided the scene to be at night to create a spooky kind of atmosphere. Hence, the title: The Blanket's Thief. Below are the photos:
Well, I think most people will get what the story is about with just the pictures and the photos. What happens is this (Spoiler!!):
1) She's sleeping.
2) She suddenly wake up and find something is missing.
3) She realized that her blanket has moved to the edge of the bed.
4) She noticed that there is something else below the bed.
5) Someone 'stole' the blanket and used it to sleep on the floor.
6) The similar scene as 5 but with a bigger perspective. You can see both the 'thief' and the main character. She is thinking of whether to remove the blanket from the 'thief' or just let it be.

Assignment2: Making Images Talk (Abstraction)
For this second assignment, I have chosen Japanese Garden as the place of interest. I faced numerous difficulties for this chosen piece. At first I assumed that I do not have to draw out all the features of the garden and straight away choose to pick out the distinctive features of the garden: the pagoda, tree and bridge. However my classmates felt that this does not look like a garden at all. So they suggested adding in the rocks below the pagoda. I also think of putting in more trees and add in bushes/grasses to make it more like a garden. So gotta work more on it.
Abstraction Lecture
For the lecture on abstraction, we were asked to complete this activity: choose an object and draw out its representation. My friend, Joann and I decided on the fire extinguisher and represent it as a shower/ water host pouring out fire. My drawing may not be convincing but I think you should get the idea of what I mean. The fire part does not really look like fire due to my drawing abilities.

A1 Concept2 Presentation
As for the second concept, it is ok but just need to make some very minor changes according to my critics. One of them suggested that instead of having two books, I can have one open book positioned in the L shape. The cap has to be tilted the reverse way so that the tail will form the alphabet a nicely.
A1 Concept1 Presentation
Finally, the first concept from assignment1. I change the table to picnic mat but somehow it does not come out nicely. So Ms Siti asked me to change to table. As for the sun, alternatively the class suggested that to use clock to depict the time in the morning since the table will be indoors. So I have to make the changes accordingly soon.
A1 Concept2 Presentation Draft
For the second concept, most of my ideas are more or less similar. In the end, I decided to put the worm, book and face as forming my nickname Lina. The graduation cap is added in to make the a alphabet more obvious.
A1 Concept1 Presentation Draft
After the presentation, I decided to mix and match some of my ideas to create a much better presentation to illustrate that I like breakfast time. I also added in a table for the food to be laid out and a sun to symbolize morning time
Assignment1 Concept2 Thumbnails
For the second concept, I would like to illustrate the fact that I'm a bookworm. I had a little help from Ms Siti asking her what are some of the things that I can draw that I can associate with bookworm. So here are some of the rough ideas I had in mind.
Assignment1 Concept1 Thumbnails
For the first concept, I would like to potray that I like eating breakfast in the morning. So these are some of the designs that I came up with to support the idea that I like breakfast.
